SPD program provides backpacks, supplies for students. #ProjectBacktoSchool SHELBY — As the 2018-19 school year kicked off Tuesday Sept. 4, students at Shelby Public Schools got a special incentive to succeed academically from the Shelby Police Department. Thanks to a new SPD program, called #ProjectBacktoSchool, four students won fully-stocked backpacks, and the schools received supplies through community donations.
