WEARE TOWNSHIP — A warrant has been issued for a 43-year-old Hart man who allegedly set his fiancee’s camper on fire when she was inside of it, said Lt. Scott Bosley of the Oceana County Sheriff’s Office.
The incident occurred on 88th Avenue Tuesday, Oct. 27, at 3:30 p.m. It is alleged that he lit hay and clothing on fire underneath the camper.
The woman, who was not injured, and her friend extinguished the blaze, said Lt. Bosley. The suspect ran off into the woods.
The warrant charges arson and malicious destruction of property. He also allegedly damaged the fiancee’s 2005 Dodge Dakota pickup truck by leaking transmission fluid from it.
