HART TOWNSHIP — A woman who was walking her dog on Oceana Drive near the Oceana Eagles told police that a man driving a rusty white pickup truck attempted to kidnap her Wednesday evening, Sept. 16, according to Oceana County Sheriff Craig Mast.
“The male attempted to drag her into his pickup truck,” said Sheriff Mast.
“She stated that she was walking south in the northbound lane of Oceana Drive when the driver of a rusty Ford pickup truck, white in color that was traveling south, asked her if she wanted a ride. The victim told the driver, who she described as a middle-aged white male with a medium build wearing a black bandana around his forehead, that she did not want a ride. The victim advised that the male got out of his truck and crossed the road. He attempted to grab her, but her large dog snapped at him, and he got back in his truck and left. The victim states that the male had a holster on the right side, but she could not tell what the holster was for. She did not see a license plate on the truck.
“The victim advised that the male was aggressive.”
She told police that she went to The Last Resort Motel (formerly the Gateway Motel) on Oceana Drive to call 911.
