Susan Thompson
Susan “Sue” Marie Thompson (Gould), a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend went home to be with her Lord and Savior on September 11, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She was 78 years old.
Born in Muskegon, MI to the late Maynard Francis Gould and Marguerite Elizabeth Gould (Rattin), Sue grew up with a foundation of faith, hard work, and family values. She was a dedicated mother who, alongside Richard “Dick” Thompson, raised their beloved daughter, Tammy.
Sue spent her career serving her community with dedication as an appraiser for Oceana County until her well-deserved retirement. Later in life, Sue shared 30-plus wonderful years of her life, heart, and home with her partner, Robert “Bob” Fillips, until his passing in 2023.
Sue was a woman of profound kindness and an enduring Christian faith. If you couldn’t find her inside, she was almost certainly outdoors tending to her beautiful garden and yard, enjoying nature, traveling to new places, finding joy in a day of shopping or testing her luck at the casino. She loved getting together for family gatherings and celebrations, anchoring her home with warmth, laughter, and unconditional love.
She leaves behind a beautiful legacy as a deeply devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Sue is survived by her brothers, Allen (Dort) Gould, David (Candace) Gould, Mike (Cindy) Gould, and Raymond (Charmaine) Gould; her daughter, Tammy (George) Parmentier; her granddaughters, Gina (David) Hall and Leigha (Xavier) Acuña Palm; and her great-grandchildren, Jameson and Kailey Hall, and Leo and Adelina Acuña Palm.
Her kind-hearted spirit, relentless work ethic, and vibrant love for both her family and God’s creation will be deeply missed but forever celebrated by all who knew her.
