Additional traffic stops result in 4 pending meth charges
The following is recent activity of the Oceana County Sheriff’s Office:
Monday, Aug. 31, 2026:
- 9:54 p.m., a 50-year-old Hesperia man was cited for improper plate following a traffic stop, South 168th Avenue near Garfield Road, Greenwood Township. A charge of methamphetamine possession is pending lab analysis of the seized substance.
Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2026:
- 8:12 p.m., a 54-year-old Mears man was arrested for parole violation, and a 55-year-old Mears woman was arrested on a failure to appear warrant and a charge of assaulting/resisting/obstructing police, US 31 and Taylor Road, Hart Township. They were both lodged in the Oceana County Jail.
Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2026:
- 3:23 p.m., a 53-year-old Holton man was arrested for driving while license revoked and operating without insurance, South 192nd Avenue and Maple Island Road, Greenwood Township. He was lodged in the Oceana County Jail.
Thursday, Sept. 4, 2026:
- 3:23 p.m., a larceny of a trail cam valued at $150, in the 6900 block of South Maple Island Road, Greenwood Township.
- 10:33 p.m., a 48-year-old Muskegon man was cited for driving while license suspended, Polk Road and 72nd Avenue, City of Hart.
- 11:17 p.m., a 61-year-old Rothbury man was arrested for operating while intoxicated, 9200 block of South 116th Avenue, Otto Township. He was lodged in the Oceana County Jail.
Friday, Sept. 5, 2026:
- Midnight, a 42-year-old Holton man was arrested on a warrant and for second-offense while license revoked, 4800 block of South 180th Avenue, Greenwood Township. A charge of methamphetamine possession is pending lab analysis of the seized substance.
- 158 a.m., a 45-year-old Shelby man was cited for operating without insurance, Oceana Drive and Fourth Street, Village of Shelby. A charge of methamphetamine possession is pending lab analysis of the seized substance.
- 7:32 a.m., domestic violence, no arrest, Chapita Hills, Village of Shelby.
- 4:26 p.m., assault, 100 block of North Michigan Avenue, Village of Shelby. The report will be forwarded to the Oceana County Prosecutor’s Office for review.
- 5:45 p.m., a 22-year-old Flat Rock, Mich. man was arrested for operating while intoxicated, Hazel Road near 34th Avenue, Golden Township. He was lodged in the Oceana County Jail.
- 11:38 p.m., a 37-year-old Montague woman was cited for operating without a license, operating without insurance and operating an unregistered vehicle, Winston Road near 92nd Avenue, Grant Township. A charge of methamphetamine possession is pending lab analysis of the seized substance.
Saturday, Sept. 6, 2026:
- 9:44 a.m., domestic violence, no arrest, 1000 block of East McKinley Road, Otto Township.
- 6:10 p.m., an 18-year-old Manhattan, Ill. man was arrested for operating while intoxicated, West Hazel Road near Emerald Drive, Golden Township. He was lodged in the Oceana County Jail.
- 11:21 p.m., a 35-year-old Middleview, Mich. woman was arrested for operating with a high blood alcohol content, 34th Avenue and Hazel Road, Golden Township. She was lodged in the Oceana County Jail.
- 11:23 p.m., a 56-year-old Portage, Mich. man was arrested for operating while intoxicated, West Hazel Road near Emerald Drive, Golden Township. He was lodged in the Oceana County Jail.
Monday, Sept. 8, 2026:
- 1:22 a.m., a 36-year-old Muskegon man was arrested on charges of domestic violence and interfering with electronic communications/911 call, 8900 block of Newfield Drive, Newfield Township. He was lodged in the Oceana County Jail.
