GOLDEN TOWNSHIP — Three girls, ages 13, 14 and 17, were injured in a crash on the Silver Lake Sand Dunes Monday, Sept. 7, around 3 p.m., according to an Oceana County Sheriff’s Office traffic crash report.
The girls were riding as passengers on a 2021 Honda SXS 100 ORV driven by a 38-year-old Michigan City, Ind. man.
The ORV “hit a ditch and the three passengers sustained injuries,” states the report. “The three passengers complained of neck or back pain.”
They were all transported to Trinity Health Shelby Hospital by Life EMS. The driver was not injured.
Another injury crash occurred on the Silver Lake Sand Dunes Monday at around 12:40 p.m.
A 56-year-old Hamilton, Mich. man was riding a 2003 Suzuki LTZ 400 ORV. “While traveling on the backside of Test Hill, he hit a bump and overturned,” states the crash report. The man, who complained of back pain, was transported by Life EMS Trinity Health Muskegon Hospital, according to the report.
A crash on the sand dunes the previous weekend resulted in a head injury for a 37-year-old Cambridge, Mass. woman. She was a passenger in a 2020 Honda Talon driven by a 39-year-old Cambridge, Mass. man, Aug. 29, shortly before noon.
The Talon “went airborne, cresting a dune and overturned,” states the traffic crash report. The woman was transported to Trinity Health Shelby Hospital by Life EMS. The driver was not injured.
