The following is recent activity of the Oceana County Sheriff’s Office:
Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2026:
- 3:11 p.m., a 48-year-old Manistee woman was arrested for possession with intent to deliver heroin and methamphetamine following a traffic stop, northbound US 31 near Polk Road, Hart Township. She was lodged in the Oceana County Jail.
Friday, Aug. 14, 2026:
- A charge of malicious destruction of jail property is being sought against a jail inmate, who is a 28-year-old New Era man, after he allegedly ripped a light out of the ceiling at the Oceana County jail earlier this month.
Saturday, Aug. 15, 2026:
- 2:06 a.m., a 19-year-old Rothbury woman was arrested for fleeing and eluding police and operating an unregistered motorcycle, 88th Avenue near Meadow Lane, Grant Township. She was lodged in the Oceana County Jail.
Sunday, Aug. 16, 2026:
- 8:16 p.m., a 20-year-old Linden, Mich. woman is being charged with two counts of assaulting/resisting/obstructing police after allegedly assaulting a jail corrections officer and road patrol deputy at the Oceana County Jail. The woman was a jail inmate following a domestic violence arrest by the Michigan State Police.
