HART — A 27-year-old mother criminally charged in connection to the death of her 7-month-old son pleaded no contest to second-degree child abuse in Oceana County’s 51st Circuit Court Monday, Aug. 10, according to Oceana County Prosecuting Attorney Joseph Bizon.

Elizabeth LynnLanor Hogan is scheduled to appear for a sentencing hearing, Oct. 12.

Her boyfriend, Devin Austin Brown-Fowler, 34, was sentenced to 54 months (4 ½ years) to 10 years in prison, Aug. 3, in connection to Maverick Lyle Bouck’s death.

It is likely that Hogan will receive a similar sentence as Brown-Fowler. Sentencing guidelines in Hogan’s case are 29-57 months, said Prosecutor Bizon.

“The judge entered a Cobbs agreement—where the judge indicates her intentions with sentencing—to sentence Hogan on par with Brown-Fowler, who received 54 months. We also agreed to cap her minimum term at 54 months. Michigan law requires an indeterminate sentence, so this will be up to the statutory maximum which is up to 10 years.”

Devin Austin Brown-Fowler pleaded no contest to second-degree child abuse, June 8.

Hogan remains lodged in the Oceana County Jail on $25,000/cash/surety bond.

The Oceana County’s Sheriff’s Office investigated the baby boy’s death that occurred the evening of May 4, 2025 in the 9000 block of South 192nd Avenue in Greenwood Township.
