Sheriff’s office hosts National Night Out Aug. 4

SHELBY TOWNSHIP — The Oceana County Sheriff’s Office is hosting its third annual National Night Out Tuesday, Aug. 4, from 4-8 p.m. at Shelby Township Community Park, at 4101 W. Buchanan Rd.

This will be a fantastic event for everyone,” stated Oceana County Undersheriff Ryan Schiller. “Please bring your family, friends and neighbors out to the park and enjoy a great evening. These events, held across the United States, aim to cultivate community. Shelby Township Community Park and the Tiger Athletic and Community Center are great places to do this. We are looking forward to a great night.”

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make neighborhoods safer and more caring places to live. 

Some activities and events will include a climbing tower, bounce house and displays, along with free food and drink.

Participating agencies and organizations will include: Oceana County Sheriff’s Office, Hart Police Department, Shelby Police Department, New Era Police Department, Pentwater Police Department, Michigan State Police—Hart Post, Department of Natural Resources, U.S. Coast Guard, Oceana County
