HART — Even though school is out for the summer, Hart Public Schools campus has been a busy place. Work has been underway this summer on building projects approved by voters last spring.

Voters in the school district voted 632-408 to pass a bond issue. The successful passage of the proposal allows the district’s bond levy to continue, generating about $14 million at no additional cost to the taxpayers. The funds are being used to make improvements throughout the school’s campus, including upgrades to the football stadium and track.

Construction of a new roof at the Diman Wolf Early Childhood Center has been completed, said Hart Superintendent Brad Jacobs during an interview, July 7. “Now, they’re inside doing flooring and installing new windows and new doors.” Work in that building is expected to be completed by the end of the month or early August, said Jacobs.

Work at the middle school has also been completed this summer, including the installation of new boilers. Partial roof replacement at the high school has been another summer project.

“The athletic complex is going to begin this fall after football season,” said Jacobs. Although, trees have been cleared in the area in preparation. “That will probably be a year or a year and a half project.”

“Everything that is on campus is on time and on schedule, so we’re hoping to have that done by early August. We’re excited to have some new renovations going on.”
