SHELBY TOWNSHIP — A 20-year-old Shelby man died when the motorcycle he was riding collided with another motorcycle on East Woodrow Road near 112th Avenue Sunday, July 5, shortly after 10 p.m., according to Oceana County Sheriff Craig Mast.
The other motorcyclist was not injured and was arrested for operating while intoxicated, said Sheriff Mast.
The two men knew each other and were riding together, said the sheriff.
“The victim was driving a 2018 Yamaha WR250, which is a dirt bike and/or Enduro-style of bike. The other motorist was driving a 2012 Harley Davidson.”
According to 911 dispatch information, the man who died in the crash was not wearing a helmet and suffered a head wound.
Names and further information are not being released at this time.
