ROTHBURY — Emergency crews were dispatched to an area west of the William Field Memorial Hart-Montague Trail near a subdivision, south of Winston Road, where a body was found Tuesday morning, June 30.

The call was dispatched as an “Electric Forest DOA” (dead on arrival) by the 911 dispatcher. Dispatch indicated it was a male subject. The four-day Electric Forest Festival that attracts tens of thousands of festival goers to the Double JJ Resort just wrapped up early Monday morning.

OCP was on scene and observed a body bag containing what appeared to be an adult subject being put onto a stretcher. Medical examiner and funeral home personnel were on scene.

“Next of kin notification needs to be made first,” said MSP Sgt. Michael Cuevas, who was on scene. ”We’re working to get some details out to the media and the public soon. We’re working an investigation right now to a discovery found by law enforcement and working to confirm details if it’s related to Electric Forest or any previously-filed police reports with the Michigan State Police, Hart post.”

The body was found in a wooded area approximately 150 feet off the trail, said Sgt. Cuevas.

MSP continues to investigate the discovery of a deceased newborn found in a porta-potty in the camping area at EF Sunday morning.
