ROTHBURY — The Michigan State Police Sixth District is reminding motorists to anticipate heavy traffic Monday, June 29, as the Electric Forest Festival wraps up at the Double JJ Resort.
“Festival attendees will begin departing the Electric Forest Festival early Monday morning, June 29,” states MSP. “Heavy traffic is expected between 5 a.m. and 4 p.m. as thousands of vehicles leave the venue.
“Motorists should expect significant delays on:
- Oceana Drive
- US 31
- Winston Road
“Michigan State Police troopers will be on scene managing traffic and working to ensure the safe and efficient flow of vehicles throughout the day.
“Local residents and travelers are encouraged to:
- Plan for additional travel time.
- Consider alternate routes when possible.
- Remain patient and alert in heavy traffic.
- Avoid distracted driving.
- Maintain a safe following distance and obey the directions of traffic control personnel.
“Traffic congestion and backups are expected throughout the day as festival attendees depart. Your patience and cooperation will help keep everyone moving safely. We wish everyone a safe trip home.”
