Forston
NEWFIELD TOWNSHIP — A 27-year-old Columbus, Ohio man, who is formerly from Hesperia, was arrested by Oceana County sheriff’s deputies after they recovered a stolen vehicle in his possession Wednesday, June 17, shortly after 1 p.m. in the 2200 block of 186th Avenue, said Oceana County Sheriff Craig Mast.
Wesley Cheyenne Forston was wanted on an outstanding warrant from another agency. Deputies recovered the 2015 Chrysler 200 after the Oceana County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office in Indiana regarding the stolen car and the possibility of the Forston being in the Oceana County area.
A detective began to check some names and found that the sheriff’s office had previous contact with Forston, May 29, when a deputy had stopped a vehicle, and a different man was arrested on a Muskegon County warrant. All the passengers were identified, and Forston was among the passengers.
The deputies went to the address on 186th Avenue and found the car and arrested Forston who had the stolen vehicle in his possession.
He is scheduled to appear in Oceana County’s 79th District Court June 30 for an extradition hearing. He is currently being held in the Oceana County Jail without bond, according to court records.
