| United Way of the Lakeshore is bringing Day of Caring back to Oceana and Newaygo Counties this September, and the organization is looking for project hosts and community input on where volunteers can make the biggest impact.
Day of Caring in Oceana County will take place Sept. 11, followed by Newaygo County Sept. 25. Local businesses, service clubs, churches, schools, nonprofits, and volunteer teams can register to participate. “While teams are already signing up to serve, we are especially looking to hear directly from the community about projects and needs that deserve extra helping hands,” states a United Way of the Lakeshore press release. “Do you know of a nonprofit that needs landscaping or painting? A community space that could use cleanup or repairs? A school, park, senior center, veterans organization, or neighborhood project that would benefit from volunteers coming together for a day of action? We want to hear from you. “Day of Caring is all about neighbors helping neighbors and mobilizing communities to action through meaningful volunteer service. Project applications are now open, and we encourage organizations and community members to submit ideas early as volunteer teams and project placements begin to take shape for the fall.” For more information, visit https://www.unitedwaylakeshore.org/day-caring. _________________________ Please Support Local News and Sports Coverage Receive daily MCP and OCP news briefings along with email news alerts for $10 a month.
