DENVER TOWNSHIP, Newaygo County — A 28-year-old Hesperia man died in a motorcycle crash Thursday, May 28, shortly after 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of West 1 Mile Road and North Brucker Avenue, according to the Newaygo County Sheriff’s Office.
The motorcyclist ran a stop sign; went off the road; and crashed. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators believe speed and alcohol were factors in the crash.

On May 28, 2026 at 2:37 p.m., deputies with the sheriff’s office were dispatched to West 1 Mile Road and North Brucker Avenue in Denver Township in reference to a motorcycle crash.
During the investigation, it was determined that a motorcycle driven by a 28-year-old male from Hesperia was northbound on Brucker and failed to stop for a stop sign at the intersection of 1 Mile and Brucker. The motorcycle went off the road and crashed. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
Speed and alcohol are believed to be factors in the crash, which remains under investigation.
The Newaygo County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by Michigan State Police — Hart Post, Life EMS, Newaygo County Central Dispatch, Mid Michigan Medical Examiner Group, and Northern Towing.
