HART — Hart girls soccer celebrated Senior Night in dominant fashion Wednesday, shutting out Orchard View 6-0 in a West Michigan Conference match at home.

Junior Rilynn Porter led the Pirates with a hat trick and an assist, while Addie Barefoot scored twice as Hart controlled the match from the opening seconds.

The Pirates wasted no time getting on the scoreboard when Barefoot stole the ball from an Orchard View defender and fired a shot into the net just 22 seconds into the match, a goal that may rank among the quickest in school history.

Nine minutes later, Porter cut in from the wing and found Barefoot for Hart’s second goal of the night.

Hart continued to apply pressure midway through the first half when junior Olivia Bradley split the Cardinals’ defense with a pass to Porter for her first goal. Just 30 seconds later, junior Natalie Rosema won a ball from the Orchard View defense and converted another scoring chance to put the Pirates ahead 4-0.

Coach Joseph Gilbert rotated several substitutes and junior varsity call-ups into the lineup throughout the match as Hart maintained control.

Porter took over offensively in the second half. Barefoot delivered a pass across the top of the penalty area six minutes into the half, allowing Porter to score her second goal of the night. Porter completed the hat trick with 18 minutes remaining when Bradley connected with her on a cross that Porter buried in the net.

Defensively, the Pirates were equally dominant, not allowing Orchard View a single shot during the match. Goalkeeper Baleigh Klotz handled a few through balls but otherwise had a quiet night in net.

With the victory, Hart clinched at least a fourth-place finish in the conference standings, its best finish in several years.

The Pirates will close conference play Friday at home against North Muskegon.
