The following is recent police activity in Oceana County:

Tuesday, May 5, 2026:

  • 9:30 a.m., (Oceana County Sheriff’s Office) larceny of a 4-by-5 foot aluminum “No Trespassing” sign valued at $250, in the 5900 block of East Winter Road, Colfax Township.

Wednesday, May 6, 2026:

  • 3 p.m., (Michigan State Police), a 42-year-old Shelby man was cited for operating without a license, US 31 and Hayes Road, Grant Township.

Thursday, May 7, 2026:

  • 12:37 p.m., (OCSO), a 64-year-old Hart man was arrested for open intoxicants, Filmore Road and 152nd Avenue, Elbridge Township. He was lodged in the Oceana County Jail.
  • 1:40 p.m., (OCSO), larceny of leaf springs from a Ford F150 pickup truck valued at $400; 10 pieces of rebar valued at $20 each; 3 feet of black tubing valued at $50; and cattle fencing valued at $40, in the 2500 block of West Scenic View Drive, Grant Township.
  • 5:08 p.m., (OCSO), assault, 5100 block of South 168th Avenue, Greenwood Township. The case is being turned over to the Oceana County Prosecutor’s Office for review.

Friday, May 8, 2026:

  • 6:50 a.m., (OCSO), malicious destruction of property, a mailbox was smashed, 200 block of East Main Street, Village of Walkerville.
  • 7:58 a.m., (OCSO), a 49–year-old Hart man was cited for driving while license revoked, Jefferson Road and 120th Avenue, Crystal Township.
  • 9:30 p.m., (MSP), a 40-year-old Grand Rapids woman was arrested on warrants, US 31 and Polk Road, Hart Township. She was lodged in the Oceana County Jail.

Saturday, May 9, 2026:

  • 3:10 p.m., (OCSO), a pole barn was broken into, 5700 block of East Filmore Road, Leavitt Township. It was not immediately known if anything was stolen.

Sunday, May 10, 2026:

  • 10:53 a.m., (OCSO), an undetermined amount of cash, bundles of firewood valued at $220 and a padlock were stolen, 34th Avenue and Hazel Road, Golden Township.
  • 2:30 p.m., (MSP), a 62-year-old Crown Point, Ind. man suffered minor injuries when the quad he was operating flipped over, Hazel Road near Harbor Street, Golden Township. The man was wearing a helmet.
  • 8 p.m., assault, Silver Lake State Park ORV area, Golden Township. The case involves two men from Illinois who are accused of assaulting another Illinois man.
