SCOTTVILLE — Hart dominated the West Michigan Conference Rivers Division boys track and field meet Friday at Spartan Community Field, capturing the team championship with 192 points ahead of six other conference schools.
Mason County Central finished second with 99.5 points.
Hart’s Chase Lorenz earned three individual conference championships, winning the 100-meter dash, 200-meter dash and 400-meter dash to lead the Pirates’ strong overall performance.
Carson Ackley claimed the conference title in the 3,200-meter run, while Caleb Ackley won the shot put championship. Jagger Lennon added another first-place finish for Hart by winning the pole vault.
Hart also swept two relay events. The Pirates’ 4×400-meter relay team of Jack Slotman, Luke Vanderwilk, Grant Ackley and Lorenz earned conference championship honors. Hart’s 4×800-meter relay team of Mason Opalewski, Trevor Vanderkodde, Slotman and Grant Ackley also captured first place.
“Great work boys,” Hart track coach Ken Kimes said following the meet.
