RAVENNA — Hart used a pair of late first-half goals and two more early in the second to defeat Ravenna 4-0 in girls soccer action.
Junior Natalie Rosema scored twice before halftime to give the Pirates control. Her first goal came on a through ball from sophomore Addie Barefoot, and she added a second off a one-touch pass from junior Zoily Sarabia.
Playing into strong winds in the opening half, Hart adjusted by pressing high and playing more direct balls to its strikers, taking a 2-0 lead into the break.
The Pirates extended the margin quickly after halftime. Sarabia scored on a feed from Rosema, who shifted into a playmaking role on the sequence, and junior Rilynn Porter added the fourth goal after forcing a turnover in the Ravenna box and finishing the chance.
Sophomore goalkeeper Baleigh Klotz recorded four saves to earn the shutout as Hart’s defense and high press limited Ravenna’s scoring opportunities.
Hart, coached by Joseph Gilbert, improved its standing with the conference win.
