SHELBY TOWNSHIP — A miniature horse was killed after it got loose from a nearby stable; entered the roadway; and was struck by a car Tuesday, April 21, around 7:30 a.m. on Hayes Road near 68th Avenue, said Michigan State Police Sgt. Michael Cuevas of the Hart post.
The driver was not injured in the crash, but the car sustained damage, Cuevas said.

- 8:40 p.m., a 24-year-old Hart man was arrested on an outstanding warrant, 120th Avenue near Jackson Road, Crystal Township. He was lodged in the Oceana County Jail.
Wednesday, April 22, 2026:
- 2:35 p.m., a 21-year-old Shelby man was arrested for domestic violence, 17000 block of 50th Avenue, Benona Township. He was lodged in the Oceana County Jail.
- 6:35 p.m., a 30-year-old Mears man was cited for operating without insurance, State and Wood streets, City of Hart.
Thursday, April 23, 2026:
- 11:45 a.m., a 30-year-old Hesperia woman was cited for driving while license suspended, 80th Avenue near Cleveland Road, Grant Township.
