Pentwater man arrested for assault with knife

PENTWATER — An assault in the Village of Pentwater resulted in a “significant police presence” in the area of Fifth and Hancock streets Friday afternoon, April 24, according to the Oceana County Sheriff’s Office.

“An incident and investigation involving a 27-year-old Pentwater man who allegedly assaulted a 69-year-old Pentwater man and a 66-year-old Pentwater woman is ongoing,” states OCSO. “The incident occurred at a residence on Fifth Street. There is no danger to the community, and the suspect was taken into custody shortly after law enforcement arrived in the area.”

According to 911 dispatch information, both victims suffered knife wounds. The male victim suffered a neck wound, and the woman suffered a wound to her finger.

The victims were transported by Life EMS to Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital, according to OCSO.
