HESPERIA — Only nine Falcons traveled to the Hesperia Invitational on Thursday, but Pentwater still came away with 11 places, five medals and six personal bests.
Pentwater’s top performers, Chase McGuire-Vangills and Logan Fatura, both turned in strong showings, combining for multiple event wins.
McGuire-Vangills took first place in three events — the 100-meter dash, long jump and 200-meter dash.
“His speed, versatility and competitive drive were on full display as he dominated across events,” Pentwater coach Erika Fatura said.
Fatura added two first-place finishes in the shot put and discus, along with a fourth-place finish in the 100-meter dash.
