Washington man sentenced for CSC, indecent exposure at 2013  Electric Forest

Jared Lodholm

HART – A 37-year-old Harbor, Wash. man was sentenced to 15½ months in jail in Oceana County’s 51st Circuit Court Monday, April 13, for convictions of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct, aggravated indecent exposure and absconding on bond.

Jared Matthew Lodholm was sentenced by Judge Susan K. Sniegowski Monday after pleading no contest to the charges, March 2.

Lodholm will be on probation for five years following his release from jail and will be required to register as a sex offender, according to the Michigan Department of Attorney General.

“This sentencing would not have been possible without the coordination of the Oceana County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, prosecutors in my office, and the U.S. Marshals Service who tracked down and apprehended this individual not once, but twice,” said Attorney General Dana Nessel. “We will continue to hold sexual assault offenders accountable, no matter how much time has passed or how far they have fled.”

In June 2013, Lodholm attended Electric Forest Music Festival in Rothbury, where he indecently exposed himself and groped a 21-year-old woman, states the press release. Lodholm was arrested at the scene and charged by the Oceana County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. After bonding out of jail in June 2013, Lodholm left the State of Michigan and failed to appear for his preliminary examination.

Lodholm was initially apprehended by the U.S. Marshals Service in Utah in April 2025. After he was granted bond, Lodholm voluntarily returned to Oceana County in May of 2025 to face the changes. However, after posting bond in Oceana County, Lodholm fled the state again and failed to appear for his probable cause conference in June of 2025. A warrant was issued for his arrest, and Lodholm was charged with absconding on bond by the Michigan Department of Attorney General.

Lodholm was arrested a second time by the U.S. Marshals Service in August of 2025 in Washington and was extradited back to Michigan to face his charges. Lodholm was apprehended through Operation Survivor Justice, an initiative between the Michigan Department of Attorney General, local county prosecutors, and the U.S. Marshals Service, that works to locate, apprehend, and return to Michigan fugitive offenders with outstanding sexual assault warrants.

The victim in this matter provided to the court a victim impact statement that read, in part, “It is very frustrating that he clearly will do all attempts to avoid taking responsibility for these types of charges against him. It feels like he doesn’t take his actions seriously, or that he has changed. I feel like at this time it is important for me to pursue this, not for just myself so I can lay this to rest, but for other women who have been potentially harmed or could be harmed in the future should we allow this to just be dismissed as a minor situation.”

Lodholm has also been ordered to pay $7,033 in restitution to the Department of Attorney General for the cost to extradite him from Washington to Michigan. He received credit for 274 days served in jail, according to court records. The AG’s office indicated Lodholm is 35, but court records list his age as 37.
