Varsity Girls Soccer: Hart Bested by State-Ranked Leland in 0-3 Duel

April 13, 2026

By Kai Taylor, OCP Sports Writer

HART — The Hart Pirates hosted the No. 8-ranked Division 4 girls soccer team, the Leland Chargers, on Saturday, falling 3-0.

According to head coach Joe Gilbert, fatigue and injury-related substitutions played a role in the loss.

Leland scored all three of its goals in the first half. Hart made adjustments after halftime and held the Chargers scoreless in the second half.

Pirates goalkeeper Baleigh Klotz recorded seven saves. With the loss, Hart moves to 2-2 on the season.

Gilbert said the team has “little time to dwell on this loss” as the Pirates prepare to host North Muskegon in their conference opener Monday.
