
Richard Balsitis II
Richard H. Balsitis II, 68, of Hesperia, passed away Thursday, April 2, 2026. He was born March 17, 1958, in Grand Rapids, the son of Richard H. Sr., and Ann (VanDrunen) Balsitis.
Rick had many hobbies, including hunting, fishing, and helping others, but most of all he loved being a papa. He absolutely adored his family. Rick was a kind and selfless man; to know him was to love him, and he was loved by everyone.
Rick was a graduate of Ferris State University, and following his graduation, he became a teacher in automotive education. He also enjoyed music, and most of all was Elvis.
Rick is survived by: his loving wife of 48 years, Deborah Balsitis; daughter, Corrine Balsitis-Smit, and her husband Christopher Smit; grandchildren, Kayla (Joshua Suarez) Gagnon, Sierra (Luke) Cook, and Avery Gagnon; great-grandchildren, Matias Suarez, Elias Suarez, Lauren Gagnon, and Luke Cook; and siblings, Dawn Balsitis, Tammy Ensing, Gail Kuznair, Kathrine VanBronkhorst, and Francis Balsitis.
Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Richard H. Sr., and Ann Balsitis; and siblings, Cynthia Balsitis and Daniel Balsitis.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. – noon, Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, Hesperia Chapel, 61 Hawley Street, Hesperia, with Funeral liturgy beginning at noon, with Fr. Phillip Sliwinski officiating. A luncheon will follow at the Hesperia American Legion, Post 411, in Hesperia.
