MUSKEGON COUNTY — Ninety pounds of methamphetamine, five firearms and a large sum of cash were seized by narcotics officers during a drug bust April 1, according to the Michigan State Police

“On April 1, 2026, the Muskegon West Michigan Enforcement Team (WEMET) conducted a targeted traffic stop on a 41-year-old Muskegon man,” states a press release from MSP’s Sixth District. “The stop was carried out by the Michigan State Police and resulted in the seizure of approximately 6 pounds of methamphetamine and a handgun. The driver was taken into custody without incident.

“Following the arrest, WEMET investigators obtained and executed two search warrants at residences associated with the suspect in the City of Muskegon and the City of Norton Shores. During the searches, investigators recovered an additional 90 pounds of methamphetamine, five firearms, and a large sum of U.S. currency.

“This investigation was conducted in partnership with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA),” states MSP. “The suspect has been identified as Dyreese Antwaun Knight, a 41-year-old male from Muskegon. The investigation remains ongoing.

“These seizures are a direct result of the strength, dedication, and seamless collaboration between the DEA and our partners with the Michigan State Police WEMET task force,” said DEA Special Agent in Charge Joseph O. Dixon. “Let this serve as a clear message to those who profit from trafficking deadly drugs into our communities — we will be relentless in our pursuit. We will identify you; we will investigate you; and we will bring you to justice.”
