BENONA TOWNSHIP — The Lake Effect Artists‘ Collective announces the return of the Annual Outdoor Summer Art Show Saturday and Sunday, July 4 and 5, in Stony Lake.
This event brings together original, handcrafted work from local, regional, and national artists. The venue’s location is 4189 Scenic Dr., next to Stony Lake Depot.
“Now in its continued tradition as a show ‘put on by artists, for artists,’ the 2026 show will feature up to 50 juried booths spanning every creative discipline: ceramics, painting, printmaking, jewelry, glasswork, metalwork, sculpture, textiles, woodworking, photography, mixed media and more,” states a press release from the organization. “All work is original and handmade by the exhibiting artist. To ensure a rich variety of mediums and a strong experience for both visitors and artists alike, our soft–jury panel balances representation across categories.
“The timing couldn’t be better: the show coincides with the Stony Lake Sparkler 5K, held just half a mile away the same weekend. With over 1,900 registered runners from across Michigan and the country, the sparkler draws a large, enthusiastic crowd — many of whom make our art show part of their Fourth of July tradition. This year, we’re also welcoming select food trucks and vendors to the grounds, making it a true community celebration.
“Artists interested in exhibiting can apply through our open application. Booth spaces are limited to 50 to maximize each artist’s opportunity for a successful show, so we encourage artists to apply early. Participating artists enjoy free parking, complimentary morning coffee and bottled water, floating booth sitters, free Wi–Fi, and easy load–in and load–out.”
“We love bringing this show back to Stony Lake every year,” said Co-Founder of Lake Effect Artists’ Collective Jan Jones. “There’s something really special about this community — people here genuinely love and support the arts, and our artists feel it. We’re passionate about creating an event where makers can connect with a new audience, share their work, and have a great weekend doing it.“
