HART — The Hart girls soccer team bounced back from a loss to Fruitport with a 4-1 win over Suttons Bay, taking control early and maintaining it throughout.

The Pirates struck quickly, scoring less than four minutes into the match. Junior Zoily Sarabia cut in from the right side and found sophomore Addie Barefoot in space. Barefoot drove to goal and finished to give Hart a 1-0 lead.

Hart generated several scoring opportunities over the next stretch, including chances created by junior Rilynn Porter and junior Natalie Rosema, but was unable to convert until midway through the first half. Barefoot took possession near midfield and carried the ball all the way to goal, scoring her second of the night to make it 2-0.

The Pirates added another before halftime. With seven minutes remaining, Olivia Bradley converted a set piece in Suttons Bay territory, sending a shot over the Norsemen goalkeeper to give Hart a 3-0 advantage at the break.

Hart continued its fast start in the second half, scoring again less than four minutes in. Barefoot drove down the left side and delivered a cross into the box that Sarabia finished for her first goal of the season, extending the lead to 4-0.

Suttons Bay broke through with 11:13 remaining following a turnover in Hart’s defensive third, but the Pirates limited further damage.

Sophomore goalkeeper Baleigh Klotz earned the win, recording three saves.

Hart’s captains named junior defender Nevaeh Reyna as Woman of the Match for her defensive performance.
