HOLTON — Shelby won its season finale Thursday, defeating the Holton Red Devils 75-44. The game was also the final West Michigan Conference Rivers Division game this season for both teams.
“It was a good team effort at Holton,” Shelby Coach Rick Zoulek said. “Holton played well on offense shooting very well for the first half especially. Both teams fought hard wanting to finish the season on a positive note.
“Our rebounding was definitely the difference tonight. Andrew Arquette had 8, Kamari Richmond had 8 and Leighton Belasco had 6 to lead us to a 37-19 advantage on the boards. We had a season high 20 assists with Andrew Arquette giving 11.
“It was probably our best team effort on defense tonight along with our sharing of the ball. Good finish to the regular season and lead in to the tourney winning 4 of our last 6 games.”
