MUSKEGON — The visiting Hart Pirate varsity boys basketball team defeated Oakridge in a conference crossover matchup by the score 62-39.
“We kind of got off to a slow start and much of that can be attributed by Oakridge and their growth as a team over the season,” said Hart Coach Nick Bronsema, “I think it kind of took our guys by surprise a little, but we were able to regroup and luckily we are a relatively deep team as our reserves
were able to come in and contribute in a positive manner.
“Bryce and Trevor Vanderkodde with Grant Ackley continue to grow as players and teammates. They gave great energy.”
The Pirates had three players in double figures with Caleb Ackley leading the way with 14 points and 6 rebounds. Kolton Rockwell had a solid all around game with 13 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 steals. Jagger Lenon chipped in with 11 points.
The Pirates will travel to Mason County Central on Thursday for their final regular season conference game.
