SHELBY — The Ravenna Bulldogs got a West Michigan Conference Rivers Division win from the Shelby Tigers Monday. The final score was 76-42.
“Ravenna came out on fire on offense and scored 31 in the first quarter off of some turnovers and some good shooting,” said Shelby Coach Rick Zoulek. “Leading by 20 after one quarter we battled back to cut it to 12 midway through the second before they called a timeout. They built it back to 18 at half. We fought hard in the third but couldn’t cut into the lead. They made 28 of 53 field goals to keep building their lead.”
Shelby’s Eli Kelley had 14 points followed by Isaac Garcia with 10 points and 6 rebounds and Leighton Belasco with 8 points. Ravenna played a solid all around game.
“We had 12 turnovers in the first half compared to 6 in the second,” Zoulek said.
