ONEKAMA — The Onekama Portagers tangled with the Shelby Tigers and came out on top Saturday, 50-47.
“This was a very competitive contest,” said Shelby Coach Rick Zoulek. “Both teams really battled on both ends of the floor. Turnovers 12 and 13. Rebounds 21-20. Free throws made 11-9.
“We just went cold in the fourth quarter making 0 for 9 from the field. Making only 4 of 8 free throws. The chemistry for us was the best it’s been all year. A very encouraging effort against a good, big, strong team.
“I’m proud of how tough we played against a very physical team.”
