Boot camp recommended

LUDINGTON — A 35-year-old Hart man was sentenced in Mason County’s 51st Circuit Court Tuesday, Jan. 27, to prison for a conviction of delivery/manufacture of methamphetamine, along with several other convictions.
Kash Verlyn Valley, pleaded guilty Jan. 14, 2025 to delivery/manufacture of methamphetamine; possession of cocaine, heroin or another narcotic; driving while license suspended; and open intoxicants in a vehicle in one criminal file. Valley was sentenced by Judge Susan K. Sniewgowski to three to 20 years in prison with credit for 383 days served in jail, along with three concurrent terms of 75 days in jail.
Court records indicate that the judge is recommending Special Alternative Incarceration/boot camp for Valley. The Michigan Department of Corrections ultimately makes the decision whether or not an inmate qualifies for the program.
Valley pleaded guilty Jan. 14, 2025 to charges of assault with a dangerous weapon, assaulting/resisting/obstructing police, fleeing and eluding police and driving while license suspended in a second file. He was sentenced Tuesday to three current terms of one year in jail with credit for one year served and a concurrent term of 75 days served in jail with credit for 75 days served.
The offense date for the drug case listed in his court file is Feb. 6, 2024, and the investigation was handled by the Michigan State Police. The offense date for the assault case is Jan. 9, 2024, and the investigation was also handled by MSP, court records state.
