HART — The Hart Pirates were able to defend their home court Tuesday, Jan. 20, while securing a 77-52 victory of Muskegon Orchard View.
The score was 19-12 after the first quarter as Orchard View proved they were excited to compete. It wasn’t until the second quarter where there was a separation created as Hart scored 24 while holding Orchard View to 5 making the score at the half 43-17.
“Credit to our boys for competing against a very hard playing Orchard View team,” said Hart Coach Nick Bronsema. “They did not make things easy on us and we are thankful. Both teams got better tonight.”
Senior Caleb Ackley continued his upward trend while posting a near triple-double with 23 points, 16 rebounds, and 7 assists. Sophomore Kolton Rockwell had a monster game as well with a double-double (points) 21 and in rebounds 12. Senior Bryce Vanderkodde energy needed and the energy provided while adding a hard earned 9 points off the bench.
Hart will pick up play again Thursday night against Rival Shelby.
