Russell Ronald Frank, 87, of Branch, passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2025.

Russell was born on February 8, 1938, the son of the late Lester and Millie (Vasicek) Frank. He was a 1956 graduate of Custer High School, known now as Mason County Eastern. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. On June 5, 1960, he was honorably discharged. Russell then went on to attend Ferris State College (now Ferris State University). On June 10, 1961, he married Rachel (Bedker) Frank. They shared 52 memorable years together until her passing.  He was employed by Cactus Oil Drilling, as well as Great Lakes Casting. He recently attended Walkerville Wesleyan Church.

Russell was a lifetime resident of Carr Settlement. He farmed the land while working in the oil fields of Michigan. He will be remembered by his family as always being excited about deer season, not only because he helped fill the freezer, but it brought family and many friends to the farm. Known as Papa, he and Mimi were deeply adored and loved by their three granddaughters.

Russell is survived by his loving companion, Peggy Drum; daughter, Anne (Brett) Manning; sons, Aaron Frank, and Jason Frank; sister, Pamela (Danny) Frank Klopfenstein; granddaughters, Rebekah Manning, Leah (Nico) Longhin, and Elizabeth (Benjamin) Lord; and great granddaughter, Rachel Anne Lord.

Russell was preceded in death by his parents Lester and Millie Frank; wife, Rachel Frank; brother, Richard “Cap” Frank; and infant sister Patrice Frank.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at noon at Walkerville Wesleyan Church with visitation beginning at 11 a.m. at the church.
