The following is recent police activity in Oceana County:

Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2025:

  • 10:56 p.m., (Oceana County Sheriff’s Office), a 46-year-old Idlewild man was arrested for operating under the influence of drugs, carrying a concealed weapon, drug possession, operating without insurance and operating without a license, North 126th Avenue near Jefferson Road, Crystal Township. He was lodged in the Oceana County Jail. The weapon and the drugs were seized.

Thursday, Dec. 18, 2025:

  • 1:56 a.m., (OCSO), a 22-year-old Battle Creek woman was arrested for operating while intoxicated, open intoxicants and operating without a license, northbound US 31 near Buchanan Road, Shelby Township. She was lodged in the Oceana County Jail.
  • 11:29 a.m., (OCSO), assault, a 22-year-old female suspect fled the scene before police arrived, and a warrant has been issued, 8400 block of South 116th Avenue, Otto Township.
  • 1:38 p.m., (MSP), a 20-year-old Whitehall man was cited for operating without insurance, Polk Road and South Dryden Street, City of Hart.

Friday, Dec. 19, 2025:

  • 9:20 .m., (MSP), a 23-year-old Shelby man was involved in a one-vehicle crash, northbound US 31 near 44th Avenue, Shelby Township. No one was injured.
  • 4:14 p.m., (OCSO), a 54-year-old Hesperia man was arrested for second-offense driving while license suspended, Riverview Drive near Loop Road, Village of Hesperia. He was lodged in the Oceana County Jail. 

Saturday, Dec. 20, 2025:

  • 8:15 a.m., (OCSO), domestic assault, no arrest, 400 block of South 72nd Avenue, Shelby Township.
  • 12:27 p.m., (MSP), a 52-year-old Montague woman was arrested on a warrant, 300 block of Pine Street, Village of Shelby. She was lodged in the Oceana County Jail.
  • 4:02 p.m., (OCSO), a 45-year-old Shelby woman was arrested on warrants and a charge of methamphetamine possession, North 64th Avenue and Taylor Road, Hart Township. She was lodged in the Oceana County Jail.
  • 8:54 p.m., (OCSO), a 33-year-old Mears man was arrested at the scene of a breaking and entering of vacant property, 2400 block of East Arthur Road, Grant Township. He was lodged in the Oceana County Jail.

Sunday, Dec. 21, 2025:

  • 6 p.m., (MSP), a 39-year-old Rothbury woman was arrested for operating with a high blood alcohol content, Oceana Drive and White Road, Grant Township. She was lodged in the Oceana County Jail.
