PENTWATER — The Pentwater Arts Council recently awarded $7,000 in grants to six Oceana County teachers. The areas of art related subject matter include art, vocal and instrumental music, graphic design, drama and performing arts. The 2025 Teacher Grant Awardees are:
- Carrie Jeruzal, Pentwater Schools Art Department
- Kirstie DeVries, Hart High School Media Department
- Suzanne Vander Zanden, Hart Middle School and High School Performing Arts
- Gustavo Morales, Shelby Schools Music Department
- Stephanie Clark, Shelby Elementary School Art Department
- Kelsy Baune, Shelby Elementary School, K-5 STEAM Department
Since the inception of the Oceana Teacher Grant in 2022, the Pentwater Arts Council has awarded grant money totaling $16,100 to Oceana teachers by application. The grant award criteria includes innovation and creativity of the proposed project, a clear project description with a cost effective budget and the proposed project impact on students. The Teacher Grant Program runs annually from September with awards granted in December. Beginning September of each year, grant applications are available on the Pentwater Arts Council’s website: http://www.pentwaterartscouncil.org .
