Monday, Dec. 8, 2025:
- 6:14 a.m., a 27-year-old Whitehall man was cited for driving while license suspended, Polk Road near US 31, City of Hart.
Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2025:
- 8:51 a.m., a 44-year-old Holton woman was cited for driving while license suspended and operating without insurance, 100 block of South Division Street, Village of Hesperia.
Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2025:
- Midnight, a 53-year-old Hesperia man was arrested for domestic violence and violating a personal protection order, South 176th Avenue, Newfield Township. He was lodged in the Oceana County Jail.
- 8:55 a.m., breaking and entering reported, 2800 block of East Polk Road, Elbridge Township.
- 8:37 p.m., a 57-year-old New Era man was arrested for operating with a high blood alcohol content/super drunk, First Street near Garfield Road, Village of New Era. He was lodged in the Oceana County Jail.
Thursday, Dec. 11, 2025:
- 11:34 a.m., a 68-year-old Brohman man was cited for driving while license suspended, Elm Street near South Street, Village of Hesperia.
Saturday, Dec. 13, 2025:
- 12:59 a.m., a 51-year-old Montague woman suffered minor injuries in a one-vehicle crash, US 31 off-ramp and Winston Road, Grant Township. The 2018 Ford Flex “was exiting the freeway and slid through the stop sign at Winston Road; went across the road; and entered the snow bank on the south side, striking a highway directional sign,” states the accident report. “The vehicle sustained front-end damage and was towed from the scene. The driver complained of neck pain.” Alcohol and drugs are not considered factors in the crash. The driver was not transported by ambulance or hospitalized, according to the report.
Sunday, Dec. 14, 2025:
- 6:34 p.m., several tools valued between $800 and $1,000 were stolen, 4800 block of South 180th Avenue, Greenwood Township.

Porch pirate steals Christmas stars
BENONA TOWNSHIP — A porch pirate or pirates stole Amazon packages that were delivered to a residence in the 7200 block of West Grant Road, said Oceana County Sheriff Craig Mast.
The theft was reported Monday, Dec. 8, at 9:38 a.m.
Two lighted Christmas tree stars valued at $120 were stolen.

Payroll checks stolen from business office
HART TOWNSHIP — A breaking and entering was reported to the Oceana County Sheriff’s Office Monday, Dec. 8, at 11:16 a.m. at Northland Castings Corporation, located on West Tyler Road
Blank payroll checks were stolen from a desk drawer in the office of the locked building. The business owners were also notified by their bank that there was fraudulent activity on their debit card, which was also stolen. The checks have been recovered, said Oceana County Sheriff Craig Mast, and the case is being “actively” investigated.
