HART — A 34-year-old man was sentenced to one year in jail and ordered to pay $3,640 in restitution in Oceana County’s 51st Circuit Court Monday, Dec. 8, for stealing from storage units.
Dylan Ray Krcma, 34, pleaded guilty Oct. 6 to larceny $1,000-$20,000.
Two felony counts of breaking and entering a building with intent were dismissed.
Krcma did not act alone. “The group he was with entered into two different storage units and stole the items contained therein,” said Oceana County Prosecuting Attorney Joseph Bizon. The storage units are located on Winston Road in Rothbury.
The crime occurred last April, court records state.
“These items had mixed monetary and sentimental values,” said Prosecutor Bizon. “For example, the owner of one of the units had her mother’s guitar stolen. I do not know what the monetary value of this item would have been, but it can never be replaced. The report indicates they used a tool to pry the locks until the lock or the latch broke.”
Chelsea Jo Beagle, 32, is one of the co-defendants, and her case was recently bound over to circuit court from 79th District Court. Beagle faces two counts of breaking and entering a building with intent, and she is slated to appear in court for a pretrial hearing Jan. 5.
There are two other suspects involved who have not been arrested yet. “There are two other warrants for participants in this activity,” said Bizon.
Krcma received credit for 49 days served in jail. He was also ordered to pay $598 in fines in costs in addition to the restitution.
