OCEANA COUNTY — Oceana County sheriff’s deputies made five different arrests for operating while intoxicated over the weekend, said Oceana County Sheriff Craig Mast.
“They all ended up in the ditch,” said Sheriff Mast of the suspected drunk drivers who were driving on snowy roads.
A 52-year-old Hart man was arrested Friday, Dec. 5, at 7:17 p.m. on 104th Avenue near Jackson Road in Weare Township.
A 63-year-old Shelby man was arrested for OWI Friday at 9:30 p.m. on Deer Road near 48th Avenue in Golden Township.
A 43-year-old Montague woman was arrested for second-offense OWI Friday at 11:35 p.m. on Winston Road near 72nd Avenue in Grant Township.
A 48-year-old Rothbury woman was arrested for OWI Saturday, Dec. 6, at 2:51 a.m. on Cleveland Road near 90th Avenue in Grant Township.
A 58-year-old Hart man was arrested for third-offense OWI on Oceana Drive near State Street in Hart Township Sunday, Dec. 7, at 12:03 a.m.
They were all lodged in the Oceana County Jail.
The Hart post of the Michigan State Police responded to a vehicle crash Saturday at 10:15 p.m. on South Oceana Drive near 79th Avenue in Shelby Township, and alcohol is suspected to be a factor in that crash, according to the MSP Hart post. According to dispatch information, the vehicle hit a tree. A 37-year-old Townville, S.C. man was transported by Life EMS to an area hospital.
