Adam Richards
Adam Randall Richards, 37, of Shelby, passed away Friday, November 7, 2025. He was born July 15, 1988, in Grand Rapids.
Adam had a quiet, creative soul and found joy in many forms of art — drawing, pottery, and even origami came naturally to him. He loved being out in nature, collecting rocks, exploring new places, and going on adventures whenever he could. He always dreamed of traveling more — hitting the road in a van, seeing new landscapes, and even imagining a future in Alaska. Family time meant everything to him, and he was known for his kind heart, easygoing spirit, and the way he could make people feel comfortable just by being themselves.
Adam was someone you could count on, no matter what. Adam felt things deeply; his emotions were strong, and he cared with a fierce, loyal love for the people in his life.
Adam worked many jobs throughout his life and never shied away from hard work. His experience ranged from abatement and building houses to factory work and fast food. Adam held several maintenance roles as well. No matter the job, he showed up with dedication, humor, and a genuine willingness to help anyone who needed it.
He appreciated the small things that helped him relax and stay grounded, always staying true to who he was.
Adam will be remembered for his creativity, his loyalty, and the fierce love he carried for his family. His spirit lives on in the adventures he dreamed of, the art he created, and in the hearts of everyone who loved him.
Adam is survived by: his grandmother Sue Ann Rogers; his mother and father, Sherri (Al) Slough; uncles, Andrew Wolfe and Bruce Oros Jr.; siblings, Patrick Richards, Phillip Richards, Matthew (Amanda) Richards, Rebecca (Spencer) Verschueren, and Aaron Richards; nieces and nephews, Pnelopi Verschueren, Andrew Richards, Rylee Verschueren, Ivy Verschueren, Alie Verschueren, Zane Verschueren, and Mallery Verschueren; and the children he helped raise, Kealah and Avery Dellar.
