Ed Forfinski
SCOTTVILLE — Smith & Eddy Insurance is among several insurance agencies across the country helping people ages 65 and over navigate Medicare. The current Medicare enrollment period began Oct. 15 and continues through Dec. 7.
“There’s a lot of noise out there,” said Ed Forfinski, agent at Smith & Eddy. “There are a lot of TV commercials and other advertisements that give out a lot of information about Medicare parts A and B. Some of it is true, and some of it is somewhat true. It’s my job to meet here locally with folks and get them to what’s true.”
Forfinski is an expert in his field and takes pride in helping clients understand their options clearly. He said local agents have the advantage of knowing the people in their community and the medical services available. While it’s certainly a person’s choice to call a national company, working with a local agent often leads to better results and a more personalized experience, Forfinski said.
“Our clients come from all socioeconomic levels with different levels of knowledge about the Medicare system. When we meet, I believe they find great comfort in knowing that they are meeting with their neighbors, people who live right here in their own communities,” Forfinski said.
