Ludington volleyball defeated by Fremont in conference final

On Saturday, the Ludington Varsity Girls Volleyball Team travelled to Montague for the WMC Conference Tournament (Lakes Division). Having finished the regular season undefeated (6-0) on Tuesday, the Orioles were given a bye to the semifinal round at the tournament, where they defeated Montague in straight sets to secure at least a share of the overall conference title and setting up another showdown with Fremont in the final. This time, the Packers came out on top of a closely contested match, winning both sets 26-24 –  meaning both teams won a share of the overall title. That brings their overall record to 23-16-3 on the season.
Next up, the Os travel Cadillac for a quad with Grand Rapids Catholic Central and Central Lake on Thursday, October 30. Following that, it’s on to districts, where the Os secured the No. 2 seed and a first-round bye – they await the winner of Big Rapids and Hart, who they will play on Wednesday, November 5, 7: p.m. at Remus Chippewa Hills High School.
