PENTWATER — National nonprofit Wreaths Across America announced that Pentwater Township Cemetery will once again participate and North Weare Township Cemetery will join for the first time as official locations for the 2025 Wreaths Across America program.

This marks the second year of participation for Pentwater Township Cemetery and the first year for North Weare Township Cemetery as part of the organization’s yearlong mission to remember, honor, and teach, states a press release from the organization.

“What began as a simple gesture of gratitude has grown into a national movement involving thousands of communities and millions of volunteers who work together each year to remember the nation’s fallen heroes, honor those who serve, and teach future generations about the value of freedom.

“On National Wreaths Across America Day – Saturday, Dec. 13, 2025 – more than 4,900 participating locations across the country will take part in this meaningful event, with more than three million volunteers placing veterans’ wreaths on headstones nationwide. The goal for this year is to place 361 sponsored veterans’ wreaths at Pentwater Township Cemetery and 63 sponsored veterans’ wreaths at North Weare Township Cemetery — ensuring that every veteran laid to rest there is remembered and honored for their service and sacrifice.”

“We are forever grateful for the thousands of supporters who dedicate their time, energy, and resources to fulfill our mission all year long,” said Wreaths Across America Executive Director Karen Worcester. “These individuals and their communities know the value of remembering the fallen, honoring those who currently serve, and teaching the next generation about the sacrifices made for our freedom every day. Because of their continued support, Wreaths Across America continues to grow and touch new people each year.”

Those interested in volunteering or sponsoring a wreath for Pentwater Township Cemetery or North Weare Township Cemetery can visit the Michigan Dunes Chapter NSDAR sponsorship page at: https: wreathsacrossamerica.org.

National Wreaths Across America Day is a free, community event open to all. The ceremony will take place at noon Saturday, Dec. 13, at Pentwater Township Cemetery, with wreath placement to follow at both cemeteries.
