51st Circuit Court sentences, published Oct. 7, 2025

HART — The following were sentenced recently in Oceana County’s 51st Circuit Court:

Zastrow

– Shelly Zastrow, 59, pleaded guilty June 9 to methamphetamine possession and was sentenced Sept. 29 to five days in jail with credit for five days served; one year probation; and $658 in fines and costs.

Salazar

– Brandon Leon Salazar, 28, pleaded no contest Aug. 4 to assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder and was sentenced Sept. 29 to four days in jail with credit for four days served; one year probation; and $658 in fines and costs.

Flowers

– Cody James Flowers, 32, pleaded guilty July 28 to attempted carrying a concealed weapon and was sentenced Oct. 6 to 213 days in jail with credit for 213 days served; one year probation; and $458 in fines and costs. Charges of carrying a concealed weapon and false report of a medical or other emergency were dismissed.

Riggs

– Joseph Alan Riggs, 43, pleaded guilty Aug. 25  to three counts of assaulting/resisting/obstructing police and was sentenced Oct. 6 to 10 months in jail and $334 in fines and costs. One count of assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder was dismissed.

Simon Saldana

– Simon Gabriel Saldana, 33, pleaded no contest July 8 to assault with a dangerous weapon and was sentenced Oct. 6 to 58 days in jail with credit for 58 days served; six months probation; and $598 in fines and costs. Charges of assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder and domestic violence were dismissed. Read a related story HERE.

Carr

– Chas William Carr, Jr., pleaded no contest July 28 to attempted second-degree criminal sexual conduct (CSC) and was sentenced Oct. 6 to six months in jail with credit for two days served; five years probation; and $658 in fines and costs. One count of second-degree CSC was dismissed.

Madrigal

– Lazaro Danny Madrigal, Sr., 43, pleaded guilty Aug. 4 to assaulting/resisting/obstructing police and was sentenced Oct. 6 to two days in jail with credit for two days served; 18 months probation; and $598 in fines and costs. Charges of operating without a license and operating without insurance were dismissed.

Weise

– Melissa Ann Weise, 36, pleaded guilty Aug. 4 to methamphetamine/ecstasy possession and was sentenced Oct. 6 to two days in jail with credit for two days served; one year probation; and $658 in fines and costs. In a second file, Weise pleaded guilty May 12 to methamphetamine/ecstasy possession and was sentenced Oct. 6 to four days in jail with credit for four days served; one year probation; and $398 in fines and costs.
