Obituary: Mary Carolyn (Taber) Klisch, 83 of Ludington, formerly of Pentwater

Mary Carolyn (Taber) Klisch, 83 of Ludington, formerly of Pentwater, passed away on Sunday, September 14, 2025, in Ludington.

She was born on October 27, 1941, in Battle Creek, to the Rev. Marcius and Mearl (Himelich) Taber. Carolyn married Werner Klaus Klisch on March 20, 1966, and their marriage was filled with love and companionship.

A graduate of Pentwater High School, Carolyn furthered her education at Central Michigan University and Western Michigan University. She was also a member of the Pentwater United Methodist Church, where she participated in various community and spiritual activities.

Carolyn was a vibrant soul known for her outgoing and social personality who seemed to, “never met a stranger”.

Carolyn’s hobbies included traveling, knitting, crochet, and reading. She had a special love for horses, dedicating much time to riding and caring for her beloved mares. She also took great joy in keeping up with the adventures and achievements of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Carolyn is survived by her husband Werner, and their children, Kathryn and Kurt. Carolyn also leaves behind a sister, Margery, and was a cherished grandmother to Chantelle, Zackary, William, Serena, Aidyn, and Taylor, as well as a great-grandmother to Cayleb, Paul, Katie, Nick, Orion, Lyra, Mason, and Eva Iris. Her extended family included numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews, all of whom she loved dearly.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Reverend Marcius and Mearl Taber, along with her brothers, Harold, Johnny, and Morris Taber.

A celebration of Carolyn’s life will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Centenary United Methodist Church in Pentwater, MI.
