
Bob Fletcher
Robert “Bob” Cecil Fletcher Sr., 90, of Walkerville, passed away Sunday, August 24, 2025. He was born May 24, 1935, in Walkerville, the son of Cecil and Grace (Clark) Fletcher.
Bob was a hardworking son, father, grandfather, and friend. He and Thelma raised six children on their family farm, as well as being employed for over 33 years with CWC in Muskegon, several years with Buildings Plus, and over 30 years as an electrician.
Bob was a kind, generous, and community oriented man, having served eight years on the Oceana County Road Commission, 20 years on the Walkerville School Board, a 4-H leader for many years, and was a member of Walkerville Area Fire and Rescue. He also participated on many bowling leagues and golf leagues.
Bob’s hobbies included deer hunting, which he loved, as well as traveling with friends to hunt elk and mule deer over many years. He also enjoyed bird watching, golfing, bowling, and traveling with friends to national bowling tournaments all across the county.
Bob’s faith was an instrumental part of his life, he was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Hart.
Bob is survived by: his loving children, Leon (Darla) Fletcher, Barb (Jim) Thommen, Karlene Tanner, Janet Fletcher, Robert (Lisa) Fletcher, and Sondra (Mike) Weinert; 18 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Max (Karen) Fletcher and Phyllis Price; special friend, Shirley Whitaker; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Bob was preceded in death by: his father, Cecil Fletcher; mother and stepfather, Grace (Milo) Scouten; grandson, Joel Fletcher; son-in-law, Tony Tanner; and brother-in-law, Carl Price.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Thursday, August 28, 2025, at Hart First Baptist Church, 3258 North 72nd Avenue, Hart. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, King-Hart Chapel, 2370 North 72nd Avenue, Hart, as well as Thursday, from 10 a.m. until time of services at the church. Interment will be in Abson Cemetery, Walkerville.
