HART — Nichole Kleiner was recently appointed unanimously as interim city manager by the Hart City Council following the resignation of Rob Splane.
Kleiner served as Hart’s economic and community development director until May, but left that position to start a consulting firm. “I was still involved, but on a contractural basis.
“When the city reached out to find somebody to bridge the gap, I was willing to do that,” she said. “The search (for a permanent city manager) is underway.” A consulting firm has been hired to aid in the search. “The finance and personnel committee is putting together a recruitment package which will have a timeline.”
Kleiner is handling the interim position on a part-time basis right now. She and her husband Jim recently purchased Sunset Ridge Campground on School Section Lake in Walkerville. “That will close up after Labor Day, and then I will be full-time with the city, Sept. 8.”
