WEARE TOWNSHIP — Pentwater police officers deployed stop sticks to halt the pickup truck of a fleeing suspect Sunday, Aug. 10, around 12:30 a.m., said Oceana County Sheriff Craig Mast.
The Pentwater Police Department assisted the sheriff’s office by flattening the tires of a 2020 Dodge Ram driven by a 46-year-old Pentwater man, said the sheriff. The man was arrested on charges of fleeing and eluding police, operating while intoxicated and open intoxicants in a vehicle. He was lodged in the Oceana County Jail.
The chase began on Washington Road near 72nd Avenue and lasted “roughly 30 minutes and was roughly 30 miles,” he said.

- 4:09 p.m., a 24-year-old Wayland woman was cited for driving while license suspended, northbound US 31 near Stony Lake Road, Shelby Township.

- 12:24 p.m., a 60-year-old Hart man was arrested for driving while license revoked, North 104th Avenue near Jackson Road, Weare Township. He was lodged in the Oceana County Jail.
